How I demonstrate that far from being a master of patience, I have a short attention span and am attracted to try out lots of fabric related techniques and ideas

A right pig's ear!
I have been keeping up with Barbara Brackman's Civil War blocks, in a fashion. Because she has cleverly resized all the blocks to 8" finished, some of the cutting measurements are a little strange, including lots of eighths. While I have done my best on all these, London Square has defeated me! Those half square triangles in the middle aren't accurate enough, so when I joined the triangles on the side, not only did I lose all the points, but the resultant block was too big. So what did I do? I trimmed it! How stupid was that! Now I have a block which is eight and a half inches square, but has very little else to recommend it! (I don't need to wonder why, instead of unpicking it, I'd trimmed it! We all know the answer to that question!) Back to the cutting board!

How frustrating...short of trying to paper-piecing it I can't think of anyway to cut it more accurately...good luck ;o)
I was going to suggest paper piecing too. Have a go anyway.
save this square... put some philosophic words...and then, frame it for posterity... =P
I'm sure many would agree...WE've all been there and done that. =)
